This project is to design a CNC machine model that combines the functions of a router and a milling machine. It demonstrates my ability to combine mechanical engineering concepts with practical applications, highlighting my proficiency with CAD software and understanding of mechanics. One of the challenges my group faced was the need to ensure the stability and accuracy of the machine. To overcome this problem, I conducted repeated design simulations and optimized the size and structure of the machine. This project has deepened my understanding of mechanical design, which can help me better engage in mechanical design in the future.
The success of this project was achieved through effective collaboration and continuous communication between all our team members. Each of our members contributes a unique set of skills and perspectives, doing everything they can to ensure that the design meets all specified requirements. The project lays a solid foundation for the continued development and innovation of affordable CNC machine tool technology. It also made me learn the importance of teamwork in my future career path, and improved my teamwork ability.
