This is the cardboard bridge project. My team members and I designed and built a bridge with cardboard. This project highlights my ability to work within constraints and use innovative solutions to maximize structural efficiency. Our main challenge was to achieve a high load to weight ratio. Through the principles of local reinforcement and load distribution, I created a lightweight structure that can hold significant weight. This project has greatly improved my ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
Main Features:
- Innovative design: The "square beam" structure increases strength and stability while reducing material use.
- Material efficiency: Optimize the use of paperboard through precise design to enhance load distribution.
- Test and validation: Conduct simulation tests using Solidworks to assess performance and determine how to improve the structure.
Developed Skills:
- Applied principles of structural engineering and materials science.
-Solidworks design and simulation test.
- Analytical thinking about engineering design.
Results:
- The successful creation of a bridge capable of supporting a significant weight relative to its own material limitations.
